Zimbabwe to play Nigeria, SA in friendlies before #Afcon2019

Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) president Felton Kamambo has confirmed a match between the Warriors and South Africa on 26 May 2019 as preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations this June.

He also said there is a match set for Nigeria although the terms for that friendly have not been finalised.

The one with Bafana Bafana is part of a planned joint send-off for the teams on the 25th which culminates in match. It will be the first time Zimbabwe face their southern neighbours in six years, the last time being a friendly at Orlando Stadium in 2013 when Zimbabwe 2-1.

Zimbabwe have not played Nigeria since 2006.

Zimbabwe and South Africa are two of five sides from the Cosafa region to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations this year, the first time there have been that many from Southern Africa.
