Zimbabwe’s constant isolation from the football community has cost them yet another tournament of which they had a shot at participating.
The country remains barred from the football family after they were found guilty of government intervention. The world governing body frowns on that sort of thing.
The latest tournament is the Under-23 AFCON Qualifier.
So far, they have been excluded from the Afcon 2023, COSAFA Cup, CHAN, CAF Champions League, Confederation Cup, and Women’s Champions League competitions.
Fifa insists that the Felton Kamambo-led board be reinstated. The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) under the directive of the Sport and Recreation Commission (Src) says No.
