Zimbabwe government approves men’s and women’s cricket internationals

The Zimbabwe government through the Sports and Recreation Commission has approved the resumption of men’s women’s international cricket commitments.

Zimbabwe women will host Pakistan as they get their first competitive action since April 2019.

The three ODIs and three T20s will start on 11 February 2021 and will be played inside a bubble, that is with not spectators.

All matches will be at Harare Sports Club.

The Zimbabwe men’s team is set to take on Afghanistan in the UAE for two tests and three T20 matches as well.

Both the men’s and women’s national sides will prepare for games with a regional competition that will northern versus southern players as the domestic competitions have been offline.

Zimbabwe is currently under a 30-day level 4 lockdown with curfews and stay-at-home orders.

This means all matches and preparations before have to take place under strict Covid-19 guidelines.
