Meanwhile in unofficial test match between Zimbabwe A and Pakistan A at the same venue, the locals were bowled out for 444 after lunch on day 2. PJ Moor scored 157 while captain Graeme Cremer put 54 on the board.

In reply, Pakistan are 139 for 3 at stumps. Zain Abbas (61) and Saad Ali (15) are at the crease. Paceman Chris Mpofu made his return to the fold by removing the dangerous Fakhar Zaman for 1 early in the match.

Play resumes on 10am on Tuesday with the new coach afforded an opportunity to officially watch his charges as they prepare for the upcoming test series against Sri Lanka and the tri-series involving West Indies.

The new coach takes over from Dav Whatmore who was removed from the position before the visit of India two months ago. Bowling coach Makhaya Ntini had been acting head coach in the interim.
