Pakistan and India have an acrimonious relationship which has led to complications around Rajput getting the green light. Rajput is from India.

ZC Director of Cricket Hamilton Masakadza, speaking to 3-mob.com on the side of the National Premier League, remained hopeful.

We are pretty confident he should make it through. We have put our papers in and we are now waiting for a response this week.

When pressed on what they would do if Rajput were to be turned down, Masakadza said:

We will cross that bridge when we get to it. At this point we are working with the assumption that he will be with us in Pakistan.

Masakadza also confirmed that Rajput, who had been in India during the Covid-19 lockdown period is now in the country and will be taking his charges through their paces as they enter the bio-secure bubble this week.
