Zimbabwe Cricket and Lahore Qalandars have announced a historic agreement which will see the latter’s players undergo high performance development in Pakistan.
On top of that, the Qalandars will send five fast bowlers, who regularly send down balls at over 140 km/h to play in the Zimbabwe domestic league.
The agreement was signed at Harare Sports Club by Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni and Lahore Qalandars Chief Executive Officer Atif Rana.
SELECTED PLAYERS FOR QALANDARS PROGRAMME
The following players have been selected for the four-month developmental programme at the Qalandars High Performance Centre in Lahore, starting from the 1st of September 2023:
- Tinotenda Maposa
- Tawanda Maposa
- Tanunurwa Makoni
- Marshal Takodza
- Brighton Phiri
- Lennox Chando
- Davis Marwendo
- Alex Falao
These players were picked up during a talent identification programme held in Zimbabwe recently.
The partnership will run for an initial two years and then reviewed after.
