Zimbabwe Cricket has announced two new technical appointments to its setup.
As we said a few weeks back former South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini comes in as assistant national coach in charge of bowling for two years. Douglas Hondo has been reassigned to the Zimbabwe A side.
Former Sri Lankan coach and batsman Marvin Atapattu will be in charge of batting as a consultant during the coming Bangladesh series. After that it will be assessed on whether he will be handed the job on a permanent basis. He replaces Andy Waller who was relieved of his duties on 25 October 2016.
The latest appointments are meant to arrest an alarming (that is an understatement of some proportion) run of horrid results by the national team most recently a series ODI and T20I loss to war-ridden associate nation Afghanistan.
