Zimbabwe come from behind to claim draw

Zimbabwe came from two goals down to claim a draw against Malawi in their second match of the Cosafa Cup on Friday.

Khuda Muyaba and Schumacher Kuwali gave Malawi the lead either side of the break.

Zimbabwe had the game firmly stacked against them, and were rewarded for their efforts. Blessing Sarupinda scored the equaliser, before a Patrick Musaka free-kick completed the comeback.

Ovidy Karuru, named player of the match, said his charges should have won the match

Zimbabwe coach Zvdrako Logarusic, said he is happy he did not lose given his side had gone two-nil down. He said he felt happy that his side fought back, changing the formation, introducing new ideas, after the break to come back.

Malawi coach Meke Mwase blamed the result on complacency, having taken the lead, saying his players felt the match had been won.

For the Zimbabwe coach, he will be happy his charges were able to come back to earn a point. Pressure will start coming soon, because his record of one win in ten matches makes for stark reading.
