Zimbabwe 196/5 in 20 overs (Johnathan Campbell 42, Clive Madande 41, Tashinga Musekiwa 39*; Vishil Patel 2-29, Emmanuel Bundi 2-41)
Kenya 126 in 19.1 overs (Collins Obuya 52, Neill Mugabe 20; Owen Muzondo 4-18, Kudakwashe Macheka 3-41)
Zimbabwe won by 70 runs
Zimbabwe produced a combination of vicious batting and ruthless bowling to clobber Kenya by 70 runs to reach the African Games final in Ghana.
Zimbabwe smashed 114 runs off the last eight overs, led by an onslaught from Clive Madande and Tashinga Musekiwa. Musekiwa was particularly brutal, scoring a 10-ball 39.
The groundwork was laid by an immaculate 42 by Johnathan Campbell, with a skilfull combination great placement and powerful hitting.
But it was Madande, who from his first ball had intent. He reverse-swept his first ball for four. He then powered his next for six.
That set the tone for Zimbabwe who set a score Kenya were never equipped to chase.
Kenya looked interesting early on, during the powerplay. But Zimbabwe constricted them and were ruthless.
126 may have been less were it not for a shocking umpiring decision at 114 for the loss of eight for the West Africans.
Tony Munyonga had a direct hit. The Kenyan batter was over a metre short.
The umpire did not give him out.
Zimbabwe did the needful and are now guaranteed a minimum of a silver medal when they face Namibia in the final on Saturday.
