Zim youngster Trey Nyoni makes Liverpool debut at 16

Zimbabwean youngster Trey Nyoni made his anticipated Liverpool debut in their 3-0 win over Southampton in the Emirates FA Cup.

He came on as a 78th-minute substitute for Harvey Elliot.

This made him the third youngest ever debutant for Liverpool at 16 years and 243 days after Jerome Sinclair (16 years and six days) and Harvey Elliott (16 years 174 days).

He is the youngest to do so in the FA Cup.

Nyoni is eligible to play for England, the country of his birth, or Zimbabwe through his parents.

He has so far represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 level.
