Zimbabwe international forward Matthew Rusike has played down links to English giants Newcastle United.
Rusike who was with Halmstads BK but is available after they were relegated from the Swedish top flight has been linked with a move to the struggling Magpies in January.
According to TalkSPORT, Rusike, 25, offered no comment when asked about the move instead saying many scouts had been to see him and that he hoped to he had impressed them.
Newcastle have struggled this season and lie in the relegation zone after 11 matches having failed to find the back the net 6 times.
Rusike has scored 4 in 11 matches.
Not sure what the work permit situation would be like with strict UK immigration requirements the way they are.
