Zim PSL: Caps United beat Dynamos

Dominic Chungwa took advantage of a defensive mixup as Caps United beat Dynamos 1-0 in a rescheduled Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer Legaue match at Rufaro Stadium.

Dynamos could have gone top with a game in hand but will remain second behind Chicken Inn and FC Platinum.

Caps United created the clearer chances but for a resolute Dynamos until the 69th minute when Dynamos keeper Tonderai Mateyaunga was caught isolated for Chungwa to slot the ball into the net.

For Caps United it was a chance to revenge a 2-0 loss inflicted on them in the reverse fixture two weeks ago and in a  fully packed Rufaro, they fought hard in a physical battle.

Said Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa:

We had some good half chances and they scored against the run of play so good luck to them. [Not having our experienced  players] is something you can’t control so you play with what you have. [The loss] is a setback but we have a game in hand and if we win that, we will be ahead by a point so it is game on.

As for the winning Caps United assistant coach Fungai Tostao Kwashi:

I think we deserved to win this game and we should have scored four or five goals. No disrespect to Dynamos but we can to the party.

Caps now leap to 23rd with 2 games in hand.
