Zim Cricket recalls players from Afghan T20 league after Kabul blast

Zimbabwe Cricket says it has told its players to return from home after a bomb blast in the Afghanistan capital Kabul

Zimbabwean trio of Vusi Sibanda, Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl were representing the MIS Ainak Knights in their match against the Boost Defenders when the blast which local reports say was down to a suicide bomber at a security checkpoint en route to the Alokozay Kabul International Cricket Ground in Kabul.

While the match resumed it seems as if ZC is not taking any chances. Through its ommunications and media manager Darlington Majonga it said :

Following a suicide bomb blast outside a cricket stadium in Afghanistan, Zimbabwe Cricket has asked all Zimbabwe players who were playing in Afghanistan to immediately return home. All of them are safe.

Other Zimbabwe players in the tournament there are Hamilton Masakadza, Solomon Mire, Elton Chigumbura, Richard Ngarava, Richmond Mutumbami and Sean Williams
