ZC warns against bogus rural cricket development initiatives in its name

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has warned against what it termed ‘bogus’ cricket development initiatives in its name.

It said in a statememt:

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) is aware of a video circulating on social media platforms showing people believed to be participating in a rural cricket development programme.

While ZC has no problem with and welcomes anyone conducting lawful activities in their individual and private capacity aimed at spreading and developing the game of cricket in our country, we would like to alert the public that we have neither endorsed nor sanctioned that initiative in particular.

ZC runs its official rural cricket development programme under the Cricket Kumusha-Cricket Ekhaya banner and anyone who wishes to get involved can contact us via the e-mail address [email protected] or phone number +263 242 796 560.

The Cricket Kumusha-Cricket Ekhaya programme includes coaching and umpiring courses as well as talent identification and development programmes targeted at all age groups, whether male or female, in rural communities across Zimbabwe.
