Mitchell Mavunga’s excellent form with the ball as her devastating bowling exploits helped Alliance Health Eagles Women to a five wicket victory over Tuskers Women in a Women’s T20 Cup match at Old Hararians Stadium on Monday.
She followed up another player of the performance before, by grabbing five for 11 as Tuskers, batting first were bowled out for just 40.
It is Mavunga’s third player of the match award in four matches.
Deneo Ncube was the only one to get double figures with 13.
Precious Marange added three for four while Elita Chituba and Olinda Chare got one each.
Eagles made hard work of the chase and Mavunga again stood, top-scoring with 14 followed by Modester Mupachikwa with 12.
Nomvelo Sibanda returned four for with Philonthropic Sibanda taking the other wicket.
Eagles got to 41 for the loss of five wickets in 11.1 overs.
They are now level on Mountaineers women at the top but have a superior net run rate.
