Williams should be ready for Pro50 Championship – Hondo

Tuskers coach Douglas Hondo is hopefully that Test Captain Sean Williams will be fit enough to take part in the Pro50 Championship.

Sean Williams of Zimbabwe celebrates taking the wicket of Ehsan Khan of Hong Kong (unseen) during the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan at Queens Sports Club on March 10, 2018 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe (©ICC).

Speaking to Larry Kwirirayi on The Clubhouse End podcast, Hondo said Williams was meant to take part in the Logan Cup victory over Alliance Health Eagles last week, but was ruled out by the doctor on the morning of the first day.

In the same episode, Hondo speaks about the precocious Tanunurwa Makoni, calling him a gifted and gritty player. He also spoke of the process of his young side and how it has resulted in marked improvement this season.
