Zimbabwe duo Sean Williams and Craig Ervine are out of the only test against Bangladesh commencing on Wednesday.
The reason is that both came into contact with family members who had tested positive for Covid-19. For that reason, they have had to both self-isolate as part of protocols. Further updates on their possible availability for the rest of the tour will be made after the self-isolation.
The news comes a blow for Zimbabwe who missed the duo in the recent series against Pakistan. Both have been in form, especially with the bat, and will be sorely missed against Bangladesh.
That should give an opportunity for the likes of Milton Shumba to get another go and show what the have to offer.
Brendan Taylor will stand in as captain and has said Shumba will be expected to open the batting.
The only test runs from 7 to 11 July 2021 in a bio secure bubble.
