Zimbabwe are expecting a tougher challenge from Afghanistan than they got in the first test according to bowling coach Douglas Hondo.
Speaking to Zimbabwe Cricket’s YouTube channel in Abu Dhabi, Hondo said that their opponents will have studied the his side more.
“We expect the opposition to have done a bit more homework on us”, Hondo said. “So we need to step it up in our preparations on how we can end up overcoming whatever challenges they can come with in the second test.”
“We are preparing for all eventualities,” the former Zimbabwe pace bowler added.
Zimbabwe take on Afghanistan in the second test at the same venue and the major challenge this time around is the expected return of Rashid Khan, providing a different challenge.
Zimbabwe won the first test by 10 wickets inside two days.
The second test begins 10 April 2021.
