Wasteful Warriors lose on penalties

Zimbabwe had multiple chances to win their match against Botswana in regular time, but lost out 4-3 on penalties in that country’s Independence Day Cup match.

The match ended 1-1 after Obriel Chirinda scored in the 65th minute, before conceding a minute later to a Maswena strike.

The Warriors strikers had multiple chance sin the box but failed to convert any of them.

Innocent Benza’s late effort was saved well by the keeper but Brito Baltemar’s men should have been well clear by then.

Mthokozisi Msebe and Brighton Manhire missed their spotkicks and even though Donovan Bernard saved one, it was never enough.
