Warriors Squad Finally Named

Zimbabwe coach Kalisto Pasuwa finally named his squad for this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi.

Warriors supporters had been left in trepidation as match day came closer.

Striker Nyasha Mushekwi was rewarded for his red hot form with a call-up as was Knowledge Musona, Willard Katsande and Cuthbert Malajila. The latter trio seemed destined for the wilderness following the ill-fated 2015 qualifier against Tanzania.

There was no space however for Cosafa cup goalie George Chigova as Pasuwa showed confidence in the under-23 charges who have served him so well.

Players are expected to start trickling in on Tuesday with the first training session slated for Wednesday.

Zifa put down the late preparations to financial constraints but remained confident of a win in spite of the fact that the Malawi has been in camp since their Cosafa plate triumph.
