Warriors legend Ronald Sibanda ‘missing’

Zimbabwe footballing legend Ronald ‘Gidiza’ Sibanda’s disappearance caused his family serious panic.

He was last seen on Sunday when he went with a friend Mphatisi Ndlovu to Barbourfields Stadium inBulawayo to watch a match involving Highlanders and How Mine. According The Chroniclehe did not make it to the match.

The title also sourced information from his mother, Sithokozile Sibanda to the effect that Sibanda’s phone has been unavailable since Tuesday while Mphatisi has not reported for work in Harare.

Calls to his phone had been made by his mother each yielding different responses with claims that he was asleep or driving. After the latter claim, the phone was switched off.

His mother then reported that Gidiza had called her on Thursday night saying he was on his way from Beitbridge. He has not been heard from since.

The family has checked hospitals and mortuaries and nothing has been turned up. No police report had been made by yesterday.

News of his disappearance emerged on Thursday with increasing fears for his life.

UPDATE: Gidiza has been reportedly found ‘sloshed’. We will update you as soon as we know more.
