Former World Number One golfer Tiger Woods has been involved in a car accident which resulted in multiple leg injuries.
A statememt by his agent, Mark Steinberg, read, “Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”
The accident happened after a rollover collision at 07.22hrs local time, according to the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department.
His injuries have been described as moderate to critical. He is being treated at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.
The latest setback comes after Woods, a 15-time major winner, had had his most recent back surgery, the fifth of his career. This as he tries to make a return to competitive golf.
One gets the feeling that these injuries could signal and end to his career.
