Camilla Kruger is the pride of Zimbabwe right now as she is set to make history by becoming the first local to ever compete in an equestrian sport at the upcoming Olympic Games.
She and her horse Sam the Man qualified for the Rio Games after finishing top of the Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) Olympic qualification standings for Africa and the Middle East.
The UK-based 29 year-old is gunning for a medal but has set herself up for a top 15 finish.
After posting pictures of her lockers on Facebook, the excited Kruger said:
I can’t tell you all how over-whelmed I feel right now. These amazing tack lockers have be especially made and donated from EQUIVATION, Jake Tarrant for us to take all our kit in to Rio… They are a sussex based amazing family run business…please show your support! Thank you so much.#teamzim#rio2016#equivation#samtheman
Kruger is part of a team of 12 individuals who will be part of the Olympic team including the legendary Kirsty Coventry. Zimbabwe women’s football team the Mighty Warriors will also make their maiden appearance at the games.
It’s our women, making history, as usual.
The Olympic Games run from 5 to 21 August in Rio, Brazil.
All the best Camilla. We’re screaming our heads off topless in winter for you. Not sure if that is the etiquette but watching on TV, who is asking?
