Takashinga host Uganda ahead of T20 World Cup qualifier, and two matches are under lights

Takashinga Cricket Club will help the Uganda senior men’s team to fine-tune for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier 2023 by hosting them for a T20 series starting on Sunday.

The tourists will play a total of six matches in Harare before heading off to Namibia for the qualifying tournament.

Uganda will face Takashinga in four T20s at their Highfield ground on 12, 14, 15 and 19 November.

The series also includes two night matches between Uganda and a Zimbabwe Under-25 Select side on 17 and 18 November at Harare Sports Club.

The ties between Uganda and Takashinga date back to 2014 when the club accepted an invitation to tour the East African country to help them prepare for another regional qualifying tournament.

This time round Uganda will be joining Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania and the hosts Namibia at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier 2023 scheduled for 20 November to 1 December to decide two spots at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America.
