Takashinga 1 have finally won a derby against Takashinga 2 after beating their clubmates by seven wickets in a National Premier League (NPL) in Highfield.
In all previous seasons of the tournament, Takashinga 1 had not won a match against their brothers.
Takashinga 1 brought Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani back into the squad, boosting the team.
Takashinga 2 were put into bat and quickly lost their way and never recovered.
First, Munashe Chipara removed Tino Chiwara, who was caught at mid-off by Hamilton Masakadza. Four balls later, Muzarabani got in on the fun, Ngarava collecting at mid-on. Daichi Nyandoro departed with the team score on eight.
Enter Wellington Masakadza, who decimated the middle-order, taking four for 19 off nine overs.
Ngarava, Chipara and Priviledge Chesa then wiped out the tale.
With little to defend, 104 to be specific, Nyandoro removed Tinashe Kamunhukamwe for 24. Innocent and Roy Kaia followed shortly after, scoring six runs each.
Captain Timycen Maruma and Muzarabani took them home. The former made 25 and Muzarabani 36.
They are second with a game in hand, 10 points off Westside. There are two games left for the others and three for Takashinga 1.

Westside won by 77 runs
Westside shot to the top of the table with a 77-run win over Mbizo at Old Hararians Sports Club.
Restricted to 188 by the Kadoma side, the title chasers produced some efficient bowling, bowling their opponents out for 111.
Prosper Mugeri starred with bat and ball, scoring 35 and taking three wickets.
For Mbizo, their Nigerian international import Chiemelie Udekwe continued to impress, taking four wickets for 47.
The win means Westside are the first side to qualify for the NPL T20 Blast, as they cannot finish outside the top eight.

SOGO Rangers were back on the bus as soon as they arrived at Kwekwe Sports Club, after dispensing of Bulawayo Athletic Club (BAC) by 10 wickets.
A total of 39.2 overs were bowled.
28 of those were taken up by BAC. Rangers did not allow them to get much.
National team star Ryan Burl took three for 17 in eight overs. Jason Maritz helped himself to three for 21 and the ever-improving Alex Falao two for 14.
11..2 overs is what it took for Jarod Basson and Matthew Campbell to chase down the target,
Rangers are 10 points off the top, placed third with two games to go, which is pretty impressive for a debut season.

Rainbow won by five wickets
Clive Imbayago cultured a masterful century in Rainbow’s five-wicket win over the Scorpions at Masvingo Sports Club.
At 38 for five, Rainbow looked to be in all sorts of trouble.
But Imbayago combined with Victor Nyauchi for 190 runs to take their side home, a step closer to a T20 Blast spot.
Earlier, Malawi international Daniel Jackiel took three for 46, while Tendai Shereni returned three for 41.
Scorpions, buoyed by their midweek victory, were determined, and Kumbirayi Phiri’s 70 was the highest. But one cannot be dismissive of their 79-run opening partnership. Captain Takunda Madembo made 53 and Tafadzwa Mahachi 41.

Amakhosi won by 132 runs
Amakhosi are the latest side to beat the sorry side, which is Knights, hammering them by 132 runs at Bulawayo Athletic Club.
The Knights did well in taking nine wickets but still conceded 242 runs.
Sydney Murombo will have provincial sides looking at him as he, along with Shane Chigumbura and Calvin Mubvute, have been the main agitators for their side.
Murombo took three wickets, while Chigumbura scored 49 runs
However, the day belonged to Raymond Kasimo, who made an unbeaten 50 batting at number seven.
He returned with the ball and helped himself to four wickets for just 25 runs.
