On top of that, he is now set to miss the test series against West Indies, for which he is captain.
He piles onto the woes for Zimbabwe as they are without Gary Ballance due to concussion or the T20I series. Ballance is expected to be back for the ODI series against the Irish.
It is the loss of the Williams for the Test series which will be worrying for the Chevrons, as he is the linchpin for the team.
