PRO50 CHAMPIONSHIP: Seamers, Chibhabha, Chakabva dismiss Tuskers

Alliance Health Eagles’s seamers ran through Tuskers in an eight-wicket victory in an opening Pro50 Championship match at Mutare Sports Club on Thursday.

Having won the toss, Eagles put Tuskers in.

Tanunurwa Makoni may have impressed in the Logan cup but was only good for four runs, caught and bowled by Richard Ngarava.

Craig Ervine was out next for a duck, having faced just three balls, Ngarava again with the wicket.

Skipper Brian Chari was looking good for 31 off just 28 balls until Tanaka Chivanga got rid of him.

The struggle continued when Sean Williams, in his first domestic appearance of the season, faced three balls and was gone for nought. Chivanga got him too.

Milton Shumba (10) and Alvin Chiradza (25) were the only ones to get to double figures. as Tuskers were bowled out for 106 in 33.2 overs.

Chakabva took four catches in them match.

Ngarava took three for 14 in 6.2 overs, while Chivanga was three for 39 in seven. Wessly Madhevere collected two wickets and conceded six runs in three overs.

Kudzai Maunze was out first ball of the second over bowled by Charlton Tshuma. Tinashe Kamunhukamwe went the same way for 18 to Ainsley Ndlovu.

Then it was Eagles captain Chamu Chibhabha with an unbeaten 43 and Chakabva with 40 who took it home, reaching 107 for the loss of two wickets in 17.5 overs.
