Over 1,300 participants expected for Old Mutual Marathon

The Old Mutual Marathon is on this Sunday 17 February 2019 at Old Georgians Club in Groombridge.

Over 1,300 participants are expected this year, in what is the first ever Zimbabwean marathon to be recognised as a qualifying event both the Old Mutual Two Oceans 56km, and the Comrades Marathon which is also sponsored by Old Mutual.

Runners stand to walk away with $2000 as the first prize in both the male and female categories. There are also numerous prizes for winners of the different distance categories.

Aside from the 42km run, walkers and runners can choose to participate in other distance categories starting from 21km, 10km and a 5 km fun run. The race also adheres to strict professional standards through the use of electronic timing to ensure accurate timing for every runner as according to global standards.

Start times for the races are set at 6:00am for the 42.2 km race and 6:30am for the rest of the races.
