No IPL for Zim viewers as SuperSport misses out on rights for the first time

PIC; IPL

It is bad news for Zimbabwean lovers of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Fans will not be able to catch Sikandar Raza’s debut in the biggest cricket league in the world after continental broadcaster SuperSport missed out on rights for the first time.

They said as much in a statement, which read, “𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓: SuperSport previously held broadcast rights to the IPL. Discussions with the rights holder have unfortunately been unsuccessful and SuperSport will therefore not broadcast the IPL as of this year’s edition.”

The tournament kicks off on Friday, with Gujarat Titans meeting Chennai Super Kings.
