Rhinos 57 in 20 overs (Ashley Ndiraya 16, Kelly Ndiraya 9; Kelis Ndhlovu 6-7, Christabel Chatonzwa 4-13)
Eagles 62-1 in 9.2 overs ( Modester Mupachikwa 27, Kelis Ndhlovu 25, Dana Ndiraya 1-19, Kelly Ndiraya 0-10)
Eagles win by 9 wickets
Teenage sensation Kelis Ndhlovu and the disciplined Christabel Chatonzwa produced an exciting spell of bowling as they helped Eagles add the Fifty50 Challenge title to their cabinet in a final against Rhinos Women at Harare’s Sunrise Sports Club, on Sunday.
Ndhovu had spell-binding figures of six wickets for seven runs conceded. The 17 year-old’s bowling exploits were simply breathtaking.
Chatonzwa’s four for 13 is impressive on any other day, were it not stacked against Ndhlovu’s exploits.
The Rhinos could not deal with the Eagles bowling and were bowled out for 57.
It was so bad that Rhinos’s top score came from extras with 20. Ashley Ndiraya was the only batter to get to double figures, scoring 16.
Ndhlovu returned with the bat, hitting an unbeaten 25 as Eagles chased down the target in just 9.2 overs. Modester Mupachikwa raced to 27 before she was removed by Dana Ndiraya.
The win sees Eagles add the Fifty50 Challenge title to the Women’s T20 Cup they picked up on Saturday, thus completing the double.
