Nakamba’s Villa take control of relegation fight with win over Arsenal

Zimbabwe international Marvelous Nakamba’s Aston Villa said did themselves a favour when they beat Arsenal 1-0 at Villa Park in a Premier League.

Nakamba came on a substitute to shore up the steely resolve as Villa beat the Gunners for the first time in 22 years. This was after Trezeguet took advantage of some sloppy defending in the first half.

The win means Dean Smith’s side are out of relegation on goal difference as they face West Ham on the final day knowing a win will put them through unless Watford wipe the floor beat Arsenal on the final day. by a goal margin that is more than two what Villa will be able to do.

If the other two lose the match we get to see Nakamba in the Premier League next season.

As for Arsenal, their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League fully rest on their winning their FA Cup of Final against Chelsea on 1 August,
