China-based striker Nyasha Mushekwi will not be part of the Zimbabwe side that takes part in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo in Sunday.
Mushekwi, who has been in hot form for his Dalian Yifang, came to Zimbabwe to show proof that he was injured and has since shown that he was not playing truant with national duty.
Warriors team manager Wellington Mpandare told Larry Kwirirayi on ZiFM Stereo’s The Platform on Wednesday that Mushekwi had provided proof that he was not able to turn out for the team and had opted for his doctor in South Africa for treatment as opposed to the one in China.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs talisman Khama Billiat will travel with the team in the hope of good news come Sunday.
On the same radio show, Zimbabwe assistant coach Lloyd Mutasa said such was the importance of the star that they would probably start a 60% Khama.
The match is in Sunday in Congo and will be on DStv’s SuperSport. For more information on this click here.
