Munyonga, Marumani power Zimbabwe A to win over Nepal

Captain Tony Munyonga blasted seven sixes to score a 21-ball 50 as he led his Zimbabwe A side to a six-wicket victory over Nepal in the first T20 match on Sunday.

His power-hitting set up the win for Zimbabwe A who were chasing 182, having chosen to field side. So impressive was Munyonga’s performance that the Kitipur crowd gave him a standing ovation when he was finally out to Basir Ahamad.

On the other end, Tadiwanashe Marumani was having a go as well as he made his way to a 41-ball 56. It contained three sixes and three fours before he was out to  Karan KC.

Earlier than that, Innocent Kaia cracked nine fours as he scored 47 off 30 balls before he was trapped leg before by skipper Sandeep Lamichhane.

Zimbabwe A eventually got to their target on the 18.5 over mark, reaching 182 for the loss of four wickets.

Earlier, Mohammad Aadil Alam hit an unbeaten 47, Kushal Bhurtel, 46, Rohit Paudel, 36 and Dipendra Singh Airee 28 as Nepal made 181 for the loss of five wickets.
