Munetsi nets in Reims win

Marshall Munetsi of Reims FC and Zimbabwe PIC: Ligue 1

Zimbabwe midfielder Marshall Munetsi was on target as his Stade de Reims beat Montpellier 4-2 in a French Ligue 1 match on Sunday.

The Warriors vice captain netted the opener for his side in the sixth minute.

Their other goals came from Keito Nakamura, Oumar Diakité and Teddy Teuma’s injury-time penalty.

Munetsi played 84 minutes before he was replaced by Amadou Koné.

He now turns his attention to the Warriors’ back-to-back Afcon 2025 qualifying matches against Namibia.

Both matches will be played at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

The article has been updated after an earlier version gave the scoreline as 3-1 and not 4-2.
