Mighty Warriors handed tough route to AWCON

Zimbabwe will face Mauritius in the first round of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nation qualifiers.

While Zimbabwe are expected to win the match, their bigger worry will be the level of inaction they have had over the past year and a bit.

Sure they have had a gang of matches in a period but other than that, it is that inactivity that might make them a bit risky.

The tie will take place in April 2020, with Zimbabwe playing at home.

If they win, they will face Zambia or Mozambique. Zambia is the team that hammered them 5-0 out in Lusaka in an Olympic Qualifier a few months ago.

The finals at the end of next year.

First round fixtures:
Zambia vs Mozambique
Malawi vs Eswatini
Zimbabwe vs Mauritius
Namibia vs Botswana
Gabon vs Central Africa
Angola vs Congo
DR Congo vs Sao Tome and Principe
Tanzania vs Kenya
Burundi vs Uganda
Ethiopia vs Djibouti
Liberia vs Senegal
Gambia vs Guinea Bissau
Togo vs Niger
Algeria vs Burkina Faso
