Zimbabwe Women won by three wickets

Zimbabwe Women finished their run in the Quadrangular Series with a clean sweep when they beat Thailand Women by three wickets on Tuesday.

Experienced duo Sharne Mayers and Chipo Mugeri-Tirpano set up the modest chase when they put on 48 and 29 respectively. That was important as Zimbabwe then capitulated from 79 for the loss of two wickets to 98 for the loss of six.

Ultimately, they reached 106 for seven in 18.4 overs.

Earlier, the Lady Chevrons restricted Thailand to 102 for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs.

Nannapat Khoncharoenkai top-scored with 28 at the top, while captain Naruemol Chaiwai and Chanida Sutthiruang both scored 25, the latter unbeaten.

The teams now move on to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022, with this tournament having been preparation.

Zimbabwe will be based in Abu Dhabi where they kick off their quest for a dream ticket on the 18th of September. There are warm-up matches on 16 and 17 September.
