South Africa Emerging 174 in 40.5 overs (Modiri Litheko 53, Ntandoyenkosi Zuma 37; Brandon Mavuta 6-39, Alex Falao 3-51)
Zimbabwe Emerging won by 3 runs
Brandon Mavuta was irresistible with the ball as he devoured the South Africa Emerging and middle and lower order to help his side to a nail-biting three-run victory at Queens Sports Club on Saturday.
South Africa Emerging looked on their way to a comfortable one-day series whitewash, sitting in 139 for the loss of five, chasing a modest 178.
Mavuta sliced through the batting lineup like a proverbial knife through butter.
Even while it all came together, Ntandoyenkosi Zuma looked to be orchestrating another Zimbabwe heartbreak before Mavuta had him caught out by Alex Falao, attempting a drive.
Three balls later, in the same over, he trapped Nhlankanipho Mpungose for a duck.
His six-for was met with a raucous celebration.
Earlier, Emmanuel Bawa helped himself to 60 runs, while Tashinga Musekwa smashed three sixes in his 46-ball 51.
While SA Emerging had already wrapped up the series, Steve Mangongo’s man will be delighted with the victory.
