Marumani, Kaia rock Zim XI, as Zim A win easy

Tadiwanashe Marumani and Innocent Kaia showed selectors what they will be missing at the ICC T20 World Cup as they lit up Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe A’s win over Zimbabwe XI.

Kaia smashed a 42-ball 55 and Marumani 35 in 18 as they won by six wickets, chasing down their target with over two overs to spare.

Both are traveling reserves for the team.

Kevin Kasuza contributed with 29 and Regis Chakabva 15.

Wickets came from Tanaka Chivanga (1-22), Vicrtor Nyauchi (1-19), Luke Jongwe (1-24) and Sikandar Raza (1-26). The first two are not going to the World Cup.

Zimbabwe A reached 157 for the loss of four wickets.

Earlier, Wessly Madhevere scored 36, Sean Williams with 35, Clive Madande with 31 and Milton Shumba, 30 runs as Zimbabwe XI made 156 for six.

Ryan Burl returned two for 13, Brad Evans two 36 and Tendai Chatara one for 33.

There will be another practice match on Friday at 1400hrs.
