Manchester City and Belgium captain Vincent Kompany has tweeted words of encouragement for the Mighty Warriors who are playing in their maiden Olympics in Rio De Janeiro.

The Zimbabwe women’s team has won over a lot of fans in spite of their having lost their opening matches of the country’s first ever appearance on the global stage by any representative football team.

Premier league winner Kompany shared the story of Mavis Chirandu – who scored a goal against Canada on Saturday – and the struggles the girls have gone through on their road to Rio de Janeiro.
