Zimbabwe’s ODI and Test captain Craig Ervine says that he is not sure what will happen after the Chevrons failed to qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024.
Speaking to the media in Harare ahead for the T20I series against Ireland, Ervine appeared to speak about an uncertainty about where everyone was.
“I think, obviously there are some new faces in the squad and those are maybe changes that have come from the Qualifiers,” he told the media.
“But having said that, as a player, I don’t really get involved in all of those decisions and things that go on a little bit higher up.
“Maybe repercussions will come after this series, I don’t know,” Ervine continued. “But for now our focus is just on turning up for this series and that we play the brand of cricket that we are happy playing.”
Ervine was standing in for Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza who is on his way from the Abu Dhabi T10.
He will be available for the full series.
