Zimbabwe international Kuda Mahachi has been acquitted of attempted murder of his four year-old son.
He was facing two counts.
The allegations were that Mahachi, on date unknown to the prosecution, between 25 February and 14 April 2022, hit his son with a bar and poured hot water on him.
Bulawayo regional magistrate Mark Dzira said the complainant gave contradictory statements under cross-examination.
Other witnesses had inconsistencies in their stories, which made it impossible to know who was telling the truth.
Dzira also added that medical experts could not for certain say what caused the injuries on the child.
Mahachi was contracted to SuperSport United in the DStv Premiership at the time of the charges being brought up. It resulted in a pause in his career.
