Zimbabwe Senior Women won by two runs
Teenage sensation Kelis Ndhlovu top-scored for Zimbabwe Senior Women against Uganda Senior Women in winning by two runs against Uganda Senior Women in a practice match played in Palghar, India.
Both sides are in India as part of their preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Global Qualifier set or April.
Ndhlovu made an impressive 62 off just 44 balls, which included a total of 10 fours.
She opened with the returning Sharne Mayers, who was bowled for just one by Janet Mabazi.
Captain Mary-Anne Musonda returned to her fourth position and made 20 off 15.
The team also saw Tasmeen Granger make her return., with a capable 13 off 17.
Mabazi with two for 18 and Immacualte Nakisuyi with two for 23 were the pick of the Ugandan bowlers.
Zimbabwe had the chase under control, limiting Uganda for long periods.
The East Africans needed 17 off the last over.
Francesca Chipare conceded 14, including a wide off the penultimate ball, to give Zimbabwe a win creating circumstances which should not have been so dramatic.
She did take two for 22, while there was a wicket for Ndhlovu as well returning one for 13. Precious Marange returned one for 16, Lindokuhle Mabhera one for 19 and Loryn Phiri one for 25.
