Two things happened on Saturday night as RCD Mallorca beat Villareal 4-2 in a La Liga match.

Tino Kadewere became the first Zimbabwean to start a La Liga match. We mean, ever.

Not only that, he became the first of his countrymen to score in Spain’s top division.

He opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Pepe Reina, in goal for the Yellow Submarine, made a mistake. Vedat Muriqi picked up on the poor clearance on the right side, just outside the box, beat a defender, before cutting back to Kadewere who converted with a left foot slightly glanced from the near-post to the far from just outside the six-yard box.

The win pushes Mallorca up to eighth in the league.

Kadewere is at the club on loan from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon.
