Highlanders appoint former Mourinho assistant as coach

Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Highlanders have appointed Brazilian-Portuguese Baltemar José de Oliveira Brito as their new head coach.

The announcement was made by the club in replacing the fired Mandla Mpofu.

Brito comes with assistant coach Antonio Joao Martins Leao Torres, a Portuguese national.

Brito was an assistant to Portuguese super-coach Jose Mourinho during his time at Porto and Chelsea.

Since then he has found success hard to come by as a head coach.

Most recently he was the coach at Union Titus Pétange in the Luxembourg league.

Highlanders will hope he turns their fortunes around as they are placed 11th in the league.
