Former Zimbabwe Cricket MD Hasnain named PCB CEO

Former Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) MD Faisal Hasnain has been named Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Officer.

Hasnain, 62, takes over from Wasim Khan, who quit four years before the end of his contract.

Hasnain is an executive with 35 years in the game and as ZC MD he oversaw the acquisition of 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier hosting rights in Zimbabwe. He was able to help lure the likes of Brendan Taylor and Kyle Jarvis.

In the advent of the political events of November 2017, Hasnain left the country, although he was fully involved in the running of the game. After Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the 2019 World Cup, Hasnain did not continue with his contract.

Hasnain also served twice as Chief Financial Officer at the International Cricket Council.

Hasnain’s appointment is part of sweeping changes by new PCB chairperson Ramiz Raja, which has seen many high-profile personnel lose their proverbial heads.
