A Zimbabwe women domestic cricket match will be played under lights for the first time ever this weekend.
The current Notherns versus Southerns series was meant to be the curtain raiser for the NPL T20 Blast finale, which has now been moved to next week.
Mind you, this will be the first women’s cricket match under lights at any level. The Zimbabwe women national has however played under lights, this in the UAE last year.
Now, the Friday match has been penciled for 6pm, with the Friday one at 2pm at Harare Sports Club.
The first match was played on Thursday morning as scheduled.
The matches are all part of a build up in play ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Qualifier set for December 7th- 18th, 2023 in Uganda.
The tournament will feature eight teams, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya and hosts Uganda
