Fifa proposes five subs once football returns

Fifa is looking at having five substitutions for teams once the forced Covid-19 induced break ends.

Most European leagues plan a return soon and for the safety of the players teams will be allowed three regular substitutions and then an extra two at half time to avoid time-wasting.

The proposals are subject to approval from the International Football Association Board (IFAB), which is responsible for the laws of the game.

Germany’s top two divisions are set to return in May while the Premier League is looking at June subject to government approval.

Belgium called it day crowning Club Brugge as champions while the Dutch League voided its league with no winner or relegation.
