Cameroon Women 85/8 in 20 overs (Tchouabo Leslie 19, Brenda Waluma 12, Marguerite Bessala 11; Mitchell Mavunga 2-13, Kudzai Chigora 2-19)
Zimbabwe A Women won by 89 runs
Teenage sensation Kelis Ndhlovu dusted herself up from the disappointment against Uganda Women, in helping Zimbabwe ‘A’ Women to an emphatic win over Cameroon Women in Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament match on Monday morning.
Ndhovu was out for a two-ball duck on Saturday but crafted a spectacular 98 off 66 balls in helping her side 174 runs for the loss of two wickets in their two overs.
It was that she ran out of balls, or else a century was on the cards.
Beloved Biza and Ndhlovu combined for a 79-run opening partnership. Michele Ekani removed the former for 29 and then Runyararo Pasipanodya with next ball for a golden duck.
Captain Chiedza Dhururu dutifully held up the other end, scoring 21 off 24.
There were no boundaries in her innings, but Ndhlovu helped herself to four sixes and 11 fours.
Cameroon were slow, and struggled, never able to deal with a constricting Zimbabwe attack.
Only three batters got to double figures. These were Tchouabo Leslie (19), Brenda Waluma (12) and Marguerite Bessala (11).
Zimbabwe ‘A’ would hav been disappointed to have conceded 15 extras.
It is Zimbabwe’s third win from four matches.
