Eagles hand Pro50 debuts to Windies, English youngsters

Eagles have handed Pro50 Championship to two youngsters from the West Indies and England.

Barbados starlet Romario Roach and English journeyman Alex Russell were named as starters on the opening day of the provincial domestic season on Friday.

This is in the Eagles match against Southern Rocks at Takashinga Cricket Club.

Roach is an18-year-old all-rounder – a handy batsman and medium pace bowler – who went to school at Yorkshire’s Scarborough College. He then stayed on in England to play club cricket, where he is highly regarded.

He has also been with Barbados Under-19.

21-year-old Russell is with Northamptonshire where he is still honing his skills.
