Dynamos sack Maruwa

Traditional giants Dynamos have parted ways with head coach Herbert Maruwa.

This is after just one match of a reported five-match ultimatum. They drew that tie 0-0.

Murape Murape, the club’s assistant coach, and manager Richard Chihoro have both been suspended.

Dembare currently sit nine points of league leaders Highlanders.

Maruwa was a surprise appointment earlier this year, after he had been let go by Black Rhinos. Many thought the job was always going to be too big for him, at what is by far the most successful club in Zimbabwe.

After 18 matches and off the pace, the hopes of winning the league for the first time since 2015 seem to have faded away.

Genesis Mangombe is likely to take charge for the Chibuku Super Cup first round match against Simba Bhora this weekend.
